David Anthony Burke, professionally known as d4vd, continues to be investigated for the death of Celeste Rivas. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) was granted a warrant to search the residence being rented to d4vd on Doheny Drive in Hollywood. Officers involved in the investigation choose to remain anonymous, but have reported having obtained a variety of electronics and computers.

After the initial search was executed on Sept. 17, d4vd broke the leasing agreement and moved out just one week later on Sept. 24. Internet sleuths have started to question the urgency to move out of this residency after the search warrant was issued and completed. While some speculate that this was due to the increased visibility of his residency and the desire for d4vd to stay out of the public eye, it can be theorized that he did not want LAPD to have access to execute warrants moving forward. Once a suspect moves out of the residency associated with a search warrant, it becomes more difficult to find a Judge to issue a warrant to the same location again. This is because once new tenants move into the residence, the plausibility of linking evidence to d4vd diminishes once he no longer resides there.

Since the discovery of Celeste’s death, photos and videos of the 15-year-old girl and d4vd, who is 20, have circulated online. As fans of his and online sleuths have scoured the internet for chat logs, pictures and videos of livestreams that showed the two together online. Due to these discoveries, a credible link has been established between the two.

While the type of relationship these two shared remains unclear, detectives in the LAPD have started piecing together surveillance footage along with these logs, videos and pictures to attempt to create a timeline detailing Celeste’s final days seen alive. Due to the degree of decomposition Celeste was found in, the LAPD has shared that Celeste had been dead for several weeks prior to being discovered in the trunk of the Tesla.

As of now, this is an ongoing investigation, and the suspects named are considered to be innocent until proven guilty.
