USF University Ministry

The St. Joseph Chapel is the main chapel at the University of St. Francis. The chapel is located on the third floor of the Motherhouse on the University's main campus. The chapel is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week when school is in session. Between mass at other chapels on campus and the St. Joseph Chapel, mass service takes place every week on days Sunday through Friday. The St. Joseph Chapel is an important part of University Ministry because of the school's Franciscan values.

The University Ministry has four foundational cornerstones that capture their intentions within campus ministry. Prayer, discipleship, community, and service are the center of the ministry. Prayer is aided by many prayer rooms on campus. Discipleship is focused on by connecting students on campus through their own faith journeys. To create a tight knit community, there are many interfaith programs that the ministry sponsors so that all students are able to get involved with the ministry. Service is a major cornerstone for University Ministry with many service opportunities offered to students on both local and international levels. Campus ministry has many opportunities for students with differing schedules. Between masses and fellowship activities, it provides students the chance to gather and grow on a weekly basis. Being together and standing on these cornerstones are important to the Catholic Franciscan values that the University upholds.

The University of St. Francis offers many options for mass services. Having options for services is critical in making sure that students have the ample opportunity to join the faith life of the University. The St. Joseph Chapel has mass Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays at 12:15 in the afternoon. This mass is primarily for students and staff of the University. Mass is held on Thursdays on the St. Clare campus at 12:15 in the afternoon. The Sunday mass at the St. Joseph Chapel is at 6 in the evening and is open to the public.
