A large church in Joliet, Victory City Church, has been led by pastors Dr. Rusty and Victoria Railey since March of 2016. They have services at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. every Sunday. The mission of the church is "Helping People Grow In Faith To Experience Victory". There are three practices that the church strives to live to fulfill their mission: love, live and lead. These practices stem from the scripture Acts 2:42-47 in the Bible. The scripture focuses on how people lived after being baptized.

To practice love means to love the Father like Jesus loved the Father. Another thing for people to love is each other because the Father loves us. A practical way the church puts love into action is on Sunday mornings. This is a time for people to gather and take steps towards spiritual growth.

To live like Jesus is shown through discipleship. The church has small groups and classes that anyone can join to grow deeper in their relationship with God.

The third way to get closer to Victory City Church's mission is to lead. The church helps to create leaders in different ministries, this happens when their members become mature in their faith. The members of the church can then help others to grow more spiritually mature.

This church uses these practices to ultimately help people to grow in their faith and show that faith to others. They mention that everyone was specially positioned to shine for Christ. To learn more about the mission of this church and to find more details, you can visit victorycity.com online.
