Joliet Man Back in Will County Jail for the 4th Time
Reginald Rogers, 33, is in Will County Jail after he struck a victim in the head. Police responded to Rogers residence on 317 Youngs Avenue just before 2 a.m. on Sept. 27. A 36-year-old man was found on the lawn of the residence with injuries.
According to the Joliet Patch, the victim sustained a laceration on his forehead after Rogers had struck him with a handgun. Rogers allegedly pointed the gun at the victim after the attack. The victim refused to go to the hospital.
After the incident, Police obtained a warrant for the arrest of Rogers and a warrant to search his home.
Last Friday, a shelter in place warning was issued to the area around Rogers’ residence. The Joliet Police Department Special Operations Squad raided the home and arrested Rogers. After a search of the home, a loaded magazine as well as two handguns were recovered.
Rogers has officially been charged with armed habitual criminal charges and aggravated battery.
The 33-year-old has been in Will County Jail three times prior to this incident. Earlier this year in April, Rogers was charged with obstruction of justice and destroying evidence. In 2022, he was charged with three counts of theft, two counts of loan fraud and wire fraud. In 2020, Rogers was charged with “armed habitual criminal, having a gun/FOID invalid/not eligible, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and felon in possession of a gun after a prior conviction” according to the Joliet Patch.
