Ashburn Baptist Church has locations in Orland Park, Chicago, Frankfort and Crystal Lake. The church central office is located at their Orland Park campus at 15401 Wolf Road. Ashburn's main mission is to help people find new life in Jesus. They have Spanish speaking services at the Chicago location with more to come soon in Aurora and Willow Springs.
Tommy Thompson is the Lead Pastor of Ashburn. In this role he is responsible for the leadership and missional direction of the many sites that Ashburn has. He is also the pastor at the Orland Park location. Tommy and his wife, Vicki, have been married for over 30 years.
With the upcoming Christmas season Ashburn is hosting a "Whoville Family Christmas Night". This event will be on Dec. 6 from 5:00 p.m. and last until 7 p.m. at the Orland Park campus. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their most "Who-tastic Christmas attire" presented with the challenge of winning best-dressed. The entire night will be inspired by the joy of Whoville, the whimsical city from The Grinch.
Some fun food-centered activities to look forward to include cookie decorating and a shared holiday meal. Families can also expect Christmas caroling and hot cocoa. Interested parties can register through the registration link for this event which can be found on the church website at ashburn.church. This event will kickoff the Christmas season at Ashburn.
Ashburn Baptist Church will hold their Christmas service on Dec. 21 at 11:00 a.m. Uplifting music, meaningful performances and a message of hope and love are to be expected from this service. Dr. Thompson will be preaching and the worship team will perform carols. There will be post-service festivities as well.
After the service, visitors have the option to stick around and celebrate with other church members. There will be a place for families to take photos at a designated Christmas display. Also, there will be some festive options to snack on including Christmas cookies and hot cocoa. There is something for everyone at Ashburn Baptist Church this Christmas season.
