Joliet Man Arrested for Domestic Disturbance
A Joliet man is back in Will County Jail after 7 years.
Alec Klonek, 33, of Joliet has landed back in jail after a domestic disturbance that occurred in his residence this past week.
Joliet Police responded to Klonek’s residence located on the 900 block of North Raynor Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. Klonek was allegedly intoxicated and got into an argument with his male roommate, he then proceeded to punch the roommate in the face.
The suspect was arrested without incident. The roommate denied medical assistance at the scene.
Klonek was officially charged with domestic battery.
The 33-year-old was processed at the Joliet Police Department and then transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. According to the Joliet Patch, Klonek was supposed to appear before a Will County Judge on Friday afternoon, but by 5 p.m., Will County corrections officers let Klonek leave the facility. The reason for the release is unclear.
Klonek has been in Will County Jail four times prior to this incident. In 2011, he was charged with burglary, possession of burglary tools and criminal damage of property. A year later in 2012, he was charged with one count of burglary. In 2013, he was charged with criminal trespass. In June of 2018, he would be charged with one charge of obstructing an officer and 2 counts of aggravated assault. Later that same year he would be charged with one count of armed robbery.
