City of Joliet Communication, Technology & Information Systems Committee Meeting
City officials said that the Communication, technological, and Information Systems Committee of the City of Joliet will meet on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. to go over some important technological and public safety ideas. The meeting will be held in the Executive Conference Room on the second story of Joliet City Hall, which is at 150 West Jefferson Street.
The first thing that will happen in the meeting is roll call, and then the minutes from the committee's last meeting on October 1, 2025, will be approved. People who can't make there can send their views in ahead of time by emailing publiccomment@joliet.gov. People who are there in person will also be able to speak during two public comment times, with each speaker getting up to four minutes. City rules say that committee members don't usually reply directly to public comments. If comments disturb the meeting, speakers may be asked to stop.
The committee is going to talk about two important things on the agenda. The first is the plan to give Orbis Solutions, Inc. a $116,927.90 contract to build and provide hardware for a surveillance system at the Ottawa Street Parking Deck. The second item is to approve up to $250,000 in funds for replacing public safety computers. The city is always working to improve communication and safety technologies, and these modifications are part of that effort.
The agenda also has time for new or old business that doesn't need to be acted on right now or recommended. There will be a second public comment time for anybody who want to talk about things that aren't on the agenda. The meeting is likely to end with a closed session to talk about private concerns.
City officials said that everyone can get to the meeting place. People who need accommodations are asked to call the City Clerk's Office at (815) 724-3780.
